SKIO is a platform with built in legal system that allows artists to license sounds and collaborate with each other. Content owners can monetize their music catalogues, promote their songs, and discover and sign new talent in the process.

The platform eco-system
The vision was to change the way that artist collaborate and create music. After extensive industry research and user interviews. I have outlined the vision of the platform for the next 5 years.
Onboarding
Users can register with their email or social login, and enter basic details to get better recommendations on the platform.
Feed
Based on the platform use, the feed is tailored to each user’s activity history and surfaces SKIO’s promo materials.
The Talent Marketplace
Music creators browse a community for collaborators. They set contract terms via an intuitive interface, generating a music industry-standard contract. Upon acceptance, a Project Workspace offers collaboration tools like metadata management, royalty split sheets, version tracking, messaging, file exchange, and the contract.
User Profiles/ Electronic Press Kit
Artists at every level use SKIO to collaborate with each other on songs without having to worry about legal contracts. They can fill out their press kit and select services that they are available to be hired for.
The Content Marketplace
Content owners possess the capability to vend song stems and licenses (for remixing or synchronization) to users, receiving in exchange an unlimited number of derivative songs. They also have the ability to track transactions.
Song Stems and Samples
Content library consists of songs and samples that are available for licensing and be used for music and video projects.
Insights Dashboard
Content owners can track how their songs are interacted with on the platform, download report data and reach out to their fans and artists.
Contests
To rapidly expand the user base and validate the proof of concept, hosting remix and original song contests was identified as the most efficient approach.
Remix and Original Song Contests
Producers can download free stems from top artists and submit their remixes to win official releases, scholarships, plugins and more.
Artists upload their original songs to win recording budgets,
mentorship, gear and more.
Song Feedback and Leaderboards
Users can purchase a contest report to see how their song ranked against others, see technical scores and receive feedback from A&R’s on what to improve to take their career to the next level.
